An Exceptional communicating and Networking skill is a plus.
You can only improve your accounts by generating more revenue. We should not forget that it is the guest that is making all this happen. We all know that more guest is equal to more revenue. But, you can get more guests only on the basis of the satisfaction of your previous guests. A happy customer always brings in more customers. Thus, it becomes mandatory for every trainee to learn how to serve a guest well. For this, a Hotel Management trainee must possess good communication and networking skills.
Every trainee must learn to be attentive and good at listening. A trainee must also be polite and ready to answer any query for the guest. He must be able to build a bond with the guest and make them feel special so that they can become a more frequent visitor.
A Hotel Trainee must be able to organize things and must be flexible for change.
This is an industry where customers pay for service at any hour while they stay. Thus, any Hotel Management trainee must learn to be more flexible with situations and time. Either you can be a manager complaining about your job or a manager every guest would love.
A trainee must be able to efficiently accomplish multiple tasks at a time. Apart from enthusiasm this also requires great organizing skills.
Trainees must develop cultural awareness and focus on what they speak.
The hotel industry is the industry that serves people of various nationalities, religions, and cultures. This brings a lot of diversity in the behavior, demands, belief, and languages. It is the reason every guest is unique and requires a unique way of approach. The more cultures the Hotel Management trainee knows, the better he/she can serve the guest. This also makes the guest feel they are special. But, this is not just it.
Trainees must also focus on few more global skills like what they speak. Let us understand this with an example. When a guest says “Thank You” after you serve them, what would you say? “You’re welcome, sir” or ‘No problem, sir. But instead saying “It’s my pleasure, Is there anything else you need, sir?” can create a more positive impact on the guest. It will also make them feel they can ask for anything without hesitation and you are attentive to them.
